We had been exploring the ancient ruins of Bagan… a vast array of ancient temples buried in the steaming jungles of Myanmar. As we ducked into the dark opening of this iconic temple we were surprised to see this young Buddhist monk, surrounded by glowing canals and miniature Buddhas quietly sitting, reflective in a meditative state. So beautiful, so peaceful… such an image of contemplative ecstasy.
